Did the etch-a-sketch or CPS mini rollercoaster in the waiting room
Remind you of when you were still on track
Back when you considered all the possibilities?
But that was the last time you left town
But now we’ve reached where the sidewalk ends
We can carry on further
on the dirt track we make our own
Or we can stick to where we are now
A thoroughly covered topic relating to a grouch on the coach
Or an adolescent struggling to grow into his own skin
But I suppose in a similar sort of light
It’s not that you’re growing up you know that you’re growing old
But now we’ve reached where the sidewalk ends
We can carry on further
on the dirt track we make our own
Or we can stick to where we are now x2
Now it means nothing when you say,
I'll make something of myself
and move far, far away
Now we've reached where the sidewalk ends,
And I know you'll stay here
And I'll talk about you to my friends
But I guess it's goodbye for now
I'll see you around
To my friends

The sluggish starts in the morning
a biege on biege patterned schedule,
A counterfeit companion guiding me
To staring into the sun, blinding me
A blind eye to the warning signs
Firing through the amber lights
In hindsight you were wrong along
You didn't belong
The do’s and don’t’s have been wired differently in your head,
Battling internally
Nervously but purposefully
getting out of bed
Your confidence is a device that's powered,
During the day
Struggling to function and in conjunction it
Glitches at a high rate
What if thoughts continuing to excite
brainstorming new ways
To keep you up at night
Does you blurb become a blur,
When you curse and slur you words,
Through a sentence you can't quite
Conquer
The do’s and don’t’s have been wired differently in your head,
Battling internally
Nervously but purposefully
getting out of bed
Your confidence is a device that's powered,
During the day
Struggling to function and in conjunction it
Glitches at a high rate
What if thoughts continuing to excite
brainstorming new ways
To keep you up at night

I know it sounds crazy but in time,
she'll say
I’m moving away
Your words won’t make me stay
And when you’ll realise that she's everything you want
You’ll turn on the charm
And catch him when her is calm
And it sucks
Seeing you throw all caution into the wind
Even though there’s no breeze
You think you will win
But I suppose
I know what it’s like,
I can’t exactly relate,
I guess staying always feels right
Yelling from the bedroom,
to the kitchen in between
glasses of wine
A dispute that won’t fix itself with time
Yelling from the bedroom,
to the kitchen in until you see,
An exit sign that takes you out of the limelight
Please don’t tell me
That I don’t know
When you're feeling low
Break apart call it over
I know what it’s like,
I can’t exactly relate,
I guess staying always feels right

Slipping in between pea coats
And button up tops
While I’m here trying to string more notes together
And tie them in knots
Partner them up with a mix of words
In the same place where we met
But it’s these thoughts that come in waves
It’s the times when I'm feeling sane
Only when I’m under this roof
Linking my thoughts with a daisy chain
Slipping in between raincoats
And crew neck tops
While you’re there getting your notes together
You’ve come to a stop
And remember a variety a memory now blurred
In the same place where we met
But it’s these thoughts that come in waves
It’s the times when I'm feeling sane
Thinking of what the future might bring
It makes me remember
That I'm not one to try new things
